David is a born adventurer and loves nothing more than to disappear into the bush with his photography gear and something that vaguely resembles a map. David grew up in South Africa and spent much of his childhood and adult life in the bush. While serving in the military he excelled in bush survival and evasion courses. David consults with our guests on every aspect of planning and logistics, be it finding the perfect eco-lodge to the gear for self drive safaris. He is a long time triathlete and has completed several Ironman events.

David Prescott moved out to Los Angeles in the mid 90's to achieve his dream of working in the film industry creating visual effects for some of the top grossing films of all time. During these years, while traveling through Africa, advising friends and work colleagues on travel in Africa he noticed tour operators and certain lodges missing the mark on personal care and planning. David felt that many were providing their guests with a level of personal care above that of the large operators. He decided to provide that same personal and professional approach to Katika Africa and formed partnerships with ground operators and lodges that have the same attention to detail and relationships with their guests. David grew up in Southern Africa and spent enormous amounts of time in the bush as a youngster. David's passion for wildlife, the native tribes and the customs of Africa the Africa is simply unsurpassed, the play integral roles in that passion.
